Milestones: One Month

At one month old, Evey's favorite thing to look at is the ceiling fan - whether it's on or off. She loves the black & white photo we have hanging over our couch and she loves the contrast in our closed blinds. She loves tummy time on mommy & papa's chest, especially if it includes skin-to-skin contact. She's such a good snuggler.

She's decided she doesn't like the way the gumdrop pacifiers suction to her mouth, so we switched to soothies and she takes it on her own. Even though she uses a foo (pacifier) she prefers her thumb.

She's had two "sick-child" visits and got to meet Dr. Storey. Dr. Poole has met her five times for "well-child" check-ups. She came to visit each day we were in the hospital, after we'd been home two days and then at one and two weeks. She's a healthy girl, other than the green diarrhea that keeps roaring it's ugly head.

She loves baths since her umbilical cord fell off at 13 days old and cries when it's over. She eats around 15 minutes at a time and has never had a bottle. Since she was back up to her birth-weight at her one week check-up, she's allowed to sleep through the night - she can sleep between 6 and 8 hours.

Her favorite song is "You'll Be in My Heart" by Phil Collins. If mommy sings that, she stops crying within seconds.

She hates to be put in her carseat, but loves to ride in the car.

She's never been out of her mommy's presence. She smiles, and people say it's just gas - but mommy knows better!
